New Year’s Steps To Reinvent Yourself

Unhappiness is an internal signal that indicates you need to make a change. It could be a career change, health change, relationship change, or change in location. Realize that it’s never too late and you’re never too old. Nike said it best “Just Do It!”
Change can be fearful but don’t allow it to paralyze you. Use that same fear to propel yourself into your future. How many people have left this life never doing what they desired to do? Don’t let that be you. Now is the time to reinvent yourself.
In the following are several steps to make a New You in the New Year:
-
Discover your real self. Who are you? What are you passionate about? What are your dreams & visions about? What would make you fulfilled?
-
Set quality time aside to work on your dream. Most people DON’T have time to do this but you have to MAKE time!
-
Go for the goal! Make sure that your goal is realistic, specific, and measureable.
-
Stay focused. Abort procrastination & distractions.
-
Surround yourself with like minded people. Their positive energy will inspire you.
-
Journal the steps that you have taken toward your dream and record each accomplishment, no matter how small it may be.
-
Do YOU! Stop making time for everyone else’s dreams.
Major changes are not always easy but as you take the steps toward your happiness, you will find that it was all worth while.

Will you continue the same old, same old, or will you step out and make a change? Will you get out of average? Will you put off complacency? Will 2016 be just another year for you or will you make it YOUR YEAR? Will you do something different? Something exciting? Something BIG? Something new?
My definition of a BOLD MOVE is:
-
To step out on nothing and make it become something.
-
Refusing to accept things that are, just the way that they are.
-
Listening to your hunches and acting on them.
-
Limiting your procrastination and minimizing your hesitation.
-
Stepping out of your comfort zone
-
Moving forward regardless of appearances and excuses
-
Fearlessly, taking not enough and working with it until it becomes more than enough.
Many roads are paved with good intentions but are never finished because they lack action. In the following are the steps to help you make your BOLD MOVE in the days ahead:
-
Make up your mind that this year will be different
-
Write down your detailed vision for 2016
-
Study the vision, again, and again to increase your confidence
-
Make a clear, concise, step-by-step plan to accomplish the vision
-
Act on the plan
-
When discouragement comes, KEEP acting on the plan
-
When fear comes, KEEP acting on the plan
The time is NOW! Be BOLD! Be STRONG! Make your vision a reality so that you can live your best life!

The word “blessed” means flourish, to succeed, to have an abundance of favor, to be prosperous or to be empowered to prosper.
In other words, if you are blessed, then you are already endowed with everything that you need to walk in that blessing and you are already endowed with everything that you need to receive that blessing. The blessing is already available to the individual that is BLESSED! It legally and lawfully belongs to you. It is yours!
“But I don’t feel blessed. I don’t look blessed.” Understand that the blessing has nothing to do with how you look or how you feel. It has nothing to do with where you have been BUT it has everything to do with where you ARE GOING!
The word “blessing” is present tense. It is a constant reality. The blessing is working in your life all of the time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since it is always working, then that means that you are always blessed. You always have the ability to manifest prosperity and health.
To go and get your blessing means to move forward in life. It means to PUSH! Regardless of how you feel, continue to move forward. Don’t allow appearances or circumstances to keep you from the favor and the success that has already been given to you.
Here are several keys that you must remember:
-
Realize that you are not waiting to be blessed, but you are already blessed.
-
The blessing IS already available to you.
-
As you put ACTION to your ASKING and FEET to your FAITH, you will manifest your blessing.
-
Don’t allow yourself to be moved by external conditions.
-
Your blessing is YOURS! No one can take it from you.
-
The only thing that can stop you, is YOU!
Do it NOW! Girl go get your Blessing!

A hindrance, interference, diversion, interruption, emotions, entertainment, or anything that keeps you from giving your full attention to the task at hand is considered to be a DISTRACTION.
Distractions come in many forms including phone calls, emails, text messages, social media, news reports, husbands, wives, children, parents, friends, etc. They keep you from fulfilling your dreams and move you further from your goal. They reduce your productivity and throw you off course.
The best way to handle distractions is to NOT allow the distractions to handle you. Minimize distractions before they minimize YOUR ACTION!
Here are several ways to keep your focus at a maximum as you climb the ladder of success.
-
Just Say No: You must learn to value your time and you must teach others to do the same. Unfortunately, you have to be a little selfish when it comes to reaching your goals. The more you say yes to others, the more you are saying NO to yourself. You may have to offend a few people, but saying yes to time wasted is impossible to get back.
-
Get Up Extra Early to Focus: At 3:30am, 4:00am, 4:30am, there are little to no distractions at all. In most cases, those that are connected to your world aren’t stirring just yet. This gives you uninterrupted creativity, thought, study, and planning time to maximize your action. There’s just one catch to this. You must go to bed earlier.
-
Create a Prioritized To-Do List: Make a to-do list with the most pressing things at the top as a priority. Focus on one duty(assignment) at a time until completed. Include scheduled mini breaks after completing every couple of tasks. The more consistent you are in following your list, the more your productivity will increase.
-
Separate Yourself: If the distraction will not leave you, then YOU leave the distraction! Step away from the television. Step away from the cell phone and time wasting websites. If that means finding a different place to go to get things done, then DO IT! Separate yourself from whatever and whoever is holding you back from getting to the next level.
-
Dump Your Brain: Unending thoughts, worries, and ideas can often get in the way of your focus. Get everything out of your head and onto paper so you can stop thinking about it. Once you’ve written it down, then let it go. This technique will help alleviate mental clutter and mental distractions.
These small changes will help you to achieve your goals in a BIG way. Remember, every distraction, does NOT deserve a reaction!

You’ve made a courageous decision to start a business but you are still afraid. Fear is a powerful emotion that stops, paralyzes, and even kills businesses along with their visions and dreams.
Whether the fear is real or imagined, not all fears are valid. Fearing to walk down a dark alley at midnight is certainly a valid fear and should not be taken lightly. Fearing to give a speech in front of a small class even though you are fully prepared, is not necessarily valid.
There are many that fear failure because of past experiences or because they feel that they just don’t measure up. These feelings can easily spill over into your business.
In the following are 7 ways to beat fear so that you can successfully move your business forward.
1. Know what you’re getting into: Most fears are based on the unknown but if you understand what you are embarking upon, then your fear will lessen. Research the pros and cons of your business endeavor and then make a list of each. Also research solutions for potential problems that may arise so that you’re not taken by surprise. There’s no such thing as a trouble free business but your preparedness will make things a lot easier.
2. Don’t reinvent the wheel: Follow the patterns of other successful entrepreneurs in your arena. If a healthy diet is part of their success regimen, then implement a healthy diet. If getting up at 4am is part of their success regimen, then implement getting up at 4am. Follow their patterns and what they did to get to where they are. If they did it, then so can you.
3. Face it: What is the worst thing that could happen? What do we have to fear except for fear itself? What do you have to lose? Money? Pride? If you have answered any of those questions, prepare a detailed plan B in case of unexpected events. This will cause you to feel more confident about what you are doing. Also, set up or revamp your business to limit the extent of your personal liability.
4. Believe in Something Bigger Than Yourself: Believe that something or someone bigger is leading you and helping you to succeed. Find the core of your spirituality and rest in it. Call on the creator for guidance and the way will be shown to you. Change your focus from fear to faith by realizing that you don’t have to do this alone.
5. Vision Board Your Success: Alter your current feelings of fear and failure with a vision of success. Create a poster board of success photos. What are your desires as an entrepreneur? Post pictures of desired clients, desired revenue, desired appointments, desired locality, etc. After your board is finished, meditate on these desires at least 15 minutes a day. This practice will cause your fear to be replaced with faith.
6. Keep Things in Order: Make sure your business is organized. Do you have insurances in place, maintenance on deck, emergency paperwork in tact, a financial cushion, a trusted chain of command, etc.? Not having things in order will certainly keep you up at night and cause you to be fearful.
7. Eliminate Procrastination: Putting tasks off until later will cause feelings of fear to get out of control. Often, people procrastinate because they are afraid of the discomfort that the task at hand may cause. They hope the matter will go away or take care of itself if they just wait a bit longer. Fear says “Turn away, don’t do it.” Faith says “Go ahead. Take care of it. It will be alright.”
Remember, you are a powerful being with the ability to manage your fears and your emotions. In spite of how you may feel, your success is in your consistency to move forward.

For continued success, being a confident business woman is a necessity, not a choice. It takes confidence, strong self-esteem, and faith to have your own business. Some people are born with these attributes while others have to work at it. The following is a list of things to encourage you and help you move forward.
Believe: Believe that everything you need is already inside you. Without faith or belief, it’s impossible to do anything. Real faith means to keep moving forward, even if your steps are very small. Belief is never still or stagnant. It is steadily and constantly moving toward the goal. If you are fearful, acknowledge the fear, face it, and keep moving. In spite of any challenges that may present themselves, don’t give up or give in. Believe in the entrepreneur that is in you.
Read/Study: Confidence as a business woman comes also comes from knowledge and life experiences. Spend time educating yourself by studying and reading up on your craft. Invest in workshops and seminars that are in your field of interest. It is imperative to keep up with the latest innovations and technology regarding your business. Don’t be afraid to be an expert.
Get In Shape: Some of the most successful people in the world have a regular exercise regimen. If your body is in shape then your mind will be in shape. An increased metabolic heart rate increases blood flow to the brain. It’s so much easier to operate at your business optimum when you are healthy. When you look good then you feel good.
Use Wisdom: Wisdom should be the first, the foremost, the principle thing in your business. It’s hard to be confident if you’re not making wise decisions. When it comes to finances, a new product or client, do your research first. Don’t make decisions under pressure. Be attentive to the still soft voice inside of you. Sometimes you need to get quiet so that you can think it through.
Keep a Positive Environment: Surrounding yourself with positive energy is a must. Distance yourself from negative people and negative situations. It is important to keep your mojo at high levels. You can’t do that with negative energy in your space. We all know that things happen but don’t make it a regular occurrence in your life or business. Use affirmations to build a charge of positivity around you. To help you, get my free book “50 Affirmations for the Successful Business Woman”

Look the Part: Of course, this is a free country and you can dress however you want. If your goal is to be a successful business woman then look like one. Dressing your best does not define you as an individual but it does affect how you feel and how you carry yourself. It is a scientific fact that dressing down helps you to lose your self confidence. Not only does your presentation affect how you view yourself but it also affects how others view you. Appearances DO matter!
Remember…confidence comes from within. Build yourself up from the inside and it will show up on the outside.
